Fabiola Ruiz-Gomez is a bilingual Vocational Rehabilitation Case Manager with a Bachelor of Science degree from ITESO (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She specializes in providing vocational rehabilitation case management services to monolingual Spanish-speaking injured workers, helping bridge language and cultural barriers throughout the vocational rehabilitation process.

As a native Spanish speaker, Ms. Ruiz-Gomez is fluent in Spanish and English and is experienced in facilitating communication and translating information between Spanish and English to assist injured workers, employers, insurance carriers, medical providers, attorneys, training providers, and other stakeholders.

In July 2023, Ms. Ruiz-Gomez earned the CEAS (Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist) credential, expanding her knowledge of workplace ergonomics, injury prevention, and ergonomic assessment.

In November 2023, Ms. Ruiz-Gomez obtained the ADMS (Associate Disability Management Specialist) designation, further developing her knowledge and skills in disability management and return-to-work practices.

​

In November 2024, Ms. Ruiz-Gomez earned the RTWDM (Return to Work Disability Manager) credential. Through this specialization, she has developed expertise in coordinating and implementing timely, individualized return-to-work strategies following an illness or injury. Her work focuses on helping injured workers safely return to productive and meaningful employment while considering their abilities, restrictions, job requirements, and workplace safety.

In October 2025, Ms. Ruiz-Gomez earned the CDMS (Certified Disability Management Specialist) credential. This nationally recognized certification demonstrates advanced knowledge and competency in disability management, workplace health and safety, return-to-work practices, regulatory considerations, and strategies designed to reduce the personal and occupational impact of disability.

The CDMS credential reflects Ms. Ruiz-Gomez's commitment to evidence-based professional practice, ethical standards, and continued professional development. Her disability management background provides her with specialized knowledge and skills to identify and apply appropriate interventions and strategies while working collaboratively with injured workers, employers, insurance carriers, healthcare providers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

Ms. Ruiz-Gomez has also completed the Vocational Rehabilitation Essentials Certificate through the University of Wisconsin–Stout’s program, a structured professional development pathway consisting of five vocational rehabilitation microcredentials: Foundations of Vocational Rehabilitation; Characteristics of and Adjustment to Disability; Consultation and Counseling; Career Guidance; and Case Management. This training further strengthened her knowledge of vocational rehabilitation principles, disability, client engagement, career guidance, case management, ethics, compliance, and effective service delivery.

In addition to her vocational rehabilitation responsibilities, Ms. Ruiz-Gomez serves as a Notary Public for RVA.

Ms. Ruiz-Gomez has been a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) since 2023 and currently serves as Treasurer of the Nevada IARP Chapter. Her continued involvement in professional organizations, certifications, and specialized training reflects her commitment to professional growth and to providing effective vocational rehabilitation and disability management services to the individuals she serves.
